How long does a PT session typically last?
A typical physical therapy session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. Initial evaluations are often closer to an hour because they include a full assessment, goal setting, and education. However, at my office all visits 90 minutes as I do a lot more manual therapy and modalities than other clinics. My Evaluations are 2 hours or 120 minute as I like to examine the entire body, not just one body part as insurance allows. At other clinics, follow‑up visits may vary depending on the condition being treated and the clinic model. However, here at Kairos, I guarantee you the time you need. Sessions are combine guided exercises, hands‑on treatment, movement retraining, and education. The goal is to make each visit efficient and purposeful, focusing on improving function and independence rather than simply filling time. Quality of care matters more than session length.
